Intersting factoid.

Did you know that crab shells (or most crutaceans) being chitlin, a
naturally occurring long chain polymer, are used to keep fruits and
vegetable fresher?

Or that this same material is also ued to keep meats fresher?

By golly, I learn something new every day. No, I didn't know that.

Damned spell checker - chitin, not chitlin. ~~ mutter ~~

It's a pretty cool deal actually. I'm not exactly sure of the process,
but being a long chain polymer it's also used in biodegradable
surgical thread.

Pretty cool.

I use a minecrawler armor (it's a huge deadly crab-like creature) for
arrow and weapon protection all the time.
Not as good as magic ore armor, but beats the snot out of leather.
Gothic II.
Somebody mentioned glucosimine. I was taking that for painful knees,
but it didn't work.
Had x-rays and MRI, and they couldn't figure anything out except they
recommended physical therapy.
So I'm playing one of my games, calves resting up on the desk, knees
suspended in the air, and the wife brings me some coffee.
"Get your damn legs off the desk!" she yells. "That's why your knees
hurt." Next day she bought me an ottoman for the computer chair.
I did what she said, and my knee problems disappeared.
God I love that woman.

I wonder if I could get a new motorcycle by somehow building on that idea.
Might work!

You might work that out. Odd as it is, strapping on the seat belt and
taking a short spin in my car used to clear up some lower back pain I
had. You might take a spin on the bike you want and show some kind
of physical improvement, making a big deal about it of course.
Worth a try.

Wow...Reggie googled chitlins. Impressive.
Harry,

I have been ignoring your comments, but you just follow me around making
a rude comments about everyone of my posts. You and JimH need to find a
new hobby instead of being so fixated on me. I know you and Jimh are
jealous because my son actually is a success, and was given a fellowship
into the school rated number one in his field of study, but what can I
say.

Tit for tat, Reggiecrap, tit for tat.

Your son is a success? Why should anyone believe you have a son, a name, a
boat, a house, or a car?

If your imaginary son is such a success, why can't he pick out and buy his
own computer?

So, when's the last time you sat down to a plate of chitlins and fixings?
When you google them down, do you have to take an antacid?

His comment about my son was evidence of what a low life he is.

He not only insulted my son but all hard working men and women. Not
everyone is meant to go to college. In fact, some of the most worthless
folks in the country are white collar trash with fantastic educational
credentials.

Where would we be without the blue collar workers of America?

BTW Reggie.........go **** yourself and your snotty attitude.

Try reading my note again. I praised and am glad that there are blue
collar workers.

I said: "I guess it is good that some people are not college material
and enjoy manual labor, they are an important segment of our society and
provide a valuable service. I love that show "Dirty Jobs", it always
finds some job I had no idea existed. "

The world needs people who can handle a shovel, just as much as they
need college professors who can help mold them mind of future
generations. I didn't say anything negative about your son or blue
collar workers. You seem to be very touchy after following me around
with your and Harry high fiving each other.

On the one hand you complain that the implication your son is doing some
blue collar work is evidence of being a low life.

On the other hand you recognize the value and worth of blue collar workers.

If you took Reggie's comment as an insult to your son, you must think blue
collar work is some real ****. Shame on you.

If your son *doesn't* do some shovel work, as a lower ranking engineer,
he'll be the first to escape it!

Not only did i not degrade blue collar workers, I praised them. I think
JimH is ashamed of his son's work and that set it off, sort of like
Harry is ashamed of his wife being a social worker. Both of them are
very valuable jobs that our society needs. They both need to get over
it, and realize that their loved ones found their calling. I would
NEVER have suggested my son become a college professor, I actually tried
subtly to suggest other options he might enjoy, but I DID TELL him to
figure out what he enjoyed and follow that course. I believed if he was
doing what he enjoyed, he was going to be a success and live a happy life.

While college professor is not my choice of careers for my son, I am
proud that he set his objectives high, took every AP course available in
high school, got into Ivy League school and now has a 7 year fellowship
for his PhD.

JimH and Harry need to do the same thing, and be proud of their son and
wife's chosen professions.

The septic tank would earn it's keep at times like this.

Reggie's imaginary son is on an imaginary trip to Thailand, where he's
getting an imaginary blow job from one of the ladies who work the sex
trade there. He'll come home with a rip-roaring STD, which will be
unimaginably contagious, and the next thing you know, the entire Reggie
Family will be pockmocked with open sores. Assuming they aren't already.

:)

He is actually traveling with a really beautiful girl he meet in his
sophmore year of college. She went to Univ. of Mass, and they meet at a
conference at Columbia. It was what made him move to Boston after
graduation. She is a beautiful combination of English and Pakistani
heritage. She looks like she could be an actress in a Bollywood Movie,
she is stunning and smart. The only reason they are not traveling to
Pakistan, some people might take offense with her traveling with a
American. She does not have a Dr. Dr. degree, but she is going to take
some time off to pay off her student loans before she goes back for her
post graduate work.

As i said, I am proud of my son, you and JimH should be half as proud of
your family as I am of mine. Blue colar workers and social workers are
needed and if they enjoy themselves, that is the most important thing.
