Been there - done that - wrote the book. One time, I went to Vermont to participate in a good old fashioned sugar boil. The tree farmer gave me a tap and a hammer, pointed out a tree and sent me on my way. I pounded the tap into the tree, but I couldn't figure out why the tree was screaming. Turns out it wasn’t a sap maple after all, just a run-of-the-mill Vermont hippie that the farmer didn't like. Damned farmer. |
