Just when I thought you were back on the road to better mental health,
you tell us 9-11 was an inside job.

Good grief Larry. Did you spend half of your time in the paint locker
smelling paint thinner while on that ship?

First Nations, I believe.

That's it. Well, that answers that.

Which leads me to, how come we, in the US, are "Americans", and all
those others in North and South America, aren't?

I suspect that because we live in the United State of America. Somehow
Nicaraguan American doesn't work.

Which brings up another point.

Why is it we have to identify and quantify ourselves as Polish
American, Irish American or African American?

Even better - why would a person of 50% mixed heritage - say Obama -
choose to identify himself as black as opposed to white?

Because in this country most whiteys would call Obama black. This is
still a nation that defines people by the color of their skin.

Incidentally, I identify myself as a "Yankee" on those rare occasions
when I am asked. I mostly stopped identifying myself as an "American"
when the idiot took over the White House seven years ago.

Do we? I mean, we are a nation of immigrants, but most people I know
call themselves plain American in conversation.

Plessy v. Ferguson comes to mind.

Random query.

If they call the indian nation, Native Americans do they call the
indian nation in Canada Native Canadians?

Whoops - PC Police just reminded me - First Americans. Same question

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/First_Nations

The local Mik'Maq float back & forth over the border as if citizens of both
countries. In fact quite a number actually join the US Marines rather than
serve in Canada's military.
