Of course his mom ran right out and plopped down $400.00 + taxes for it. It was a lot cheaper back in the days of the old 45s. Not sure about that. Most of the music kids have is pirated stuff. --Vic They're shooting themselves in the foot by doing that. In interviews, lots of musicians complain that they go to the trouble to create albums, not just individual songs. Some kids never get to hear the albums. And, they never see liner notes, which can lead to new musical discoveries. Buy an album, and find that maybe it's got Victor Wooten on bass. Buy a Victor Wooten album, and discover a drummer you like. Buy his album, and find a guitarist you never heard of. Pretty soon, you're broke, but you have lots of great music. Dunkin' Donuts had the same effect on fine pastries. Whatcha gonna do? I'll be sure to tell my kids what you said, and they'll probably say they can find the liner notes on the web if they're interested. Or that they don't care about liner notes. You musicians have to look out for yourself and get people arrested and tossed in jail for stealing music. It's a dog eat dog digital world. --Vic Actually, if you read past the headlines, you'll find that the majority of musicians are not pleased with the legal nonsense perpetrated by the big record labels. |
