Which end is the bow?
Actually, I'd consider a decent sized sailboat but it's out of the question
according to the Admiral. A replacement boat right now will most likely be
a trawler type, but a bit bigger than the GB36.

Reality check time. *If* the sale of the Navigator goes through, we'll
probably keep the GB36 for a while. It's cheap to run, in good shape and is
small enough for me to easily single-hand.
I had some reservations with the single engine/rudder thing until I got the
hang of "back and fill", so that's not a huge issue anymore.

It would also be ideal for a leisurely trip down the ICW next winter.
Although not as comfortable and roomy as the Navigator, I spent a lot of
time on it this past summer and enjoyed it.

But, then again, I wonder if the guy we bought the 36 from now wants to sell
his 49 footer.

You might want to come down to annapolis this spring and check out
trawler alley. Also, there are or were some really spiffy Nordic and
American Tugs for sale at a local marina. Five of them, last time I
drove by.
