My wife went out today to buy a new throw for our family room. She found
one she like but after she looked at the label she promptly put it
back.........."Made in China".

We have both made a commitment not to buy any goods made in China.

Good luck with that. Very little available at some of the major
retailers is *not* made in China.

Not true, even at WallyWorld. Youjust have to learn to read labels.- Hide quoted text -

Nah. We unionized our way out of manufacturing may years ago.
With all the "benefits", it costs so much to hire a guy to put on
sideview mirrors it just isn't going to happen.

Indeed, we are competing against more progressive countries like Japan
and countries in Europe, where the cost of health insurance for all is
borne by society, not by individual manufacturers.

Care to share your information on that?

Drop by any US car dealer selling the big three. Go back and
look at the boxes and shipping containers in the parts
department....China. Drop by your fav auto parts store when the
truck arrives to restock the shelves. Look at the printing on
the boxes....China.

The damned cars might be partially ASSEMBLED in America....of
Chinese parts.

A Honda is more American than a Chevrolet. My dad's Caprice
Classic was made in Canada of Chinese parts.

I think you are in error. The "second generation" Dodge Sprinters (late
2006 and 2007 model years) sold in the US are being built here at the
original Freightliner plant and at new plant you referenced.

Prior to that, some underwent final assembly here as "Freightliners" but
most were assembled in Düsseldorf, which is the point of origin of ours
which, I think, is a 2005 model.

Do you know if Pleasure Way has started using the six cylinder Sprinters
yet?

I suspect they would have to be on the new Sprinters. The six replaced the
five cylinder that we have.

I also suspect the change was due to increased emission regulations. From
what I've read, the six has the same power output that the 5 had, so it
wasn't and issue of getting more horsepower.

I believe you can also get it in a gas version now as well, although I don't
know why anybody would want to.
