The "second generation" Dodge Sprinters (late 2006 and 2007 model years) sold in the US are being built here at the original Freightliner plant and at new plant you referenced. Prior to that, some underwent final assembly here as "Freightliners" but most were assembled in Düsseldorf, which is the point of origin of ours which, I think, is a 2005 model. Eisboch |

The six replaced the five cylinder that we have. I also suspect the change was due to increased emission regulations. From what I've read, the six has the same power output that the 5 had, so it wasn't and issue of getting more horsepower.
