Not us, we're still on LT patrol.

There were a ton of boats out fishing off of Kent Island today near
the R88 buoy. We were headed east, not south, still looking for foto
ops. From Annapolis we took a little excursion up the Wye River and
ended up in St Micheals as we close in on the quarry. The bay was
nearly flat except for the occasional freighter wake.

"The Bay" has a number of weather patterns sometimes, with hardly any
waves in one section and two to three footers in another.
The trip to St. Michaels is a pretty one, and the town is very nice.
Nice restaurants, too, though they are charging haute cuisine prices for
pretty ordinary fare.

The side of St. Michaels harbor opposite the museum as you head out
towards the river is quite shallow in places. Friend of mine ran soft
aground in his 40-footer once. No damage.

Man, it was H-O-T out there, at least 85F and a bit higher in some
places, with the water temp still in the low to mid 70's. Beautiful day,
1' "rollers," light winds, and a half dozen bluefish came along for
entertainment. Lots of boats out today, and the usual early fall parade
of RV trawlers and other barge-type boats panting their way south for
the winter.

I suppose out in Seattle, the ice boating season has started. :}
Have you ever been out on Puget Sound? Today the temp was in the 60's,
cloudy. Great weather for fishing. For sure it wasn't H-O-T, with the temp
hitting the 90's like it did here.

One thing I never did, after the first time, was go fishing on the Bay on a
weekend. Just too damn many fools out there!

It was crowded, but just about everyone except the snowbirds was a
fisherperson. Hit the buoys for some spot bait, then went over to the
Choptank.

Is there a lot of trolling going on now? I would think that would have
calmed down until the fall.

I'm actually looking forward to getting the new boat out there. I was going
to get rid of my trolling rods, but now I think I'll hang onto them.

The 4Runner arrived. I love the way it drives, and can't believe the
acceleration the damn thing has. Glad I bought it. It did come with the
Michellin tires you mentioned.

Yeah, I actually saw some guys using umbrellas. I didn't see anyone
catching a "keeper" rock, though. Lots and lots of bluefish all over the
place, plus lots of scared baitfish, diving birds, jumping fish.

For me, the most enjoyable fishing is usually now through Thanksgiving,
assuming it cools down.

I think the 4Runner is the *best* SUV on the road. I'm thinking of
trading in our 2004 for a current model. I really like it and to date,
it has been 100% reliable. I *don't* much like the tire pressure warning
gizmos, though.

Have you noticed the little mirrors in the corners in the rear, just
above the tailgate class? :}

No, I've not even read the book. I finally took it around the block this
morning, just to see what it felt like.

The 4Runner will be redesigned for 2009, so hold on before getting a new
one. The Highlander was redone this year (2008) and the 4Runner is next.
I'll probably be wanting to trade mine in. We'll see!

Hopefully, you photo'd Thomas Point Lighthouse.

Well, if they dump the truck frame for a unibody, I won't want one.
That's part of the strength of the 4Runner...the frame.

I've no idea what they'll do. The salesman, Eric, at Alexandria Toyota gave
me the news.

We went right by it yesterday, about 0.7 NM offshore. It looked great
from the distance.

Sharps Island lighthouse is next. Try to get it when the boat's not
rocking.

My X5 was made in America, by Americans. Where do they make the 4Runner?

Now what was it you were saying a little while ago???
"As a matter of fact, I've tried to lay off the rancorous posts. Ever
thought of it?"
Looks like you'd better start 'thinking'..............

How does this post qualify? You seem to love to find anything to bitch

Yes, and you supply more than enough material.
