Default Placement of nav lights

I'm removing the bow red/green nav light from the new boat and
am thinking of placing one single color nav light on each side of the
center console.

I can't seem to find the damned rule regarding nav lights. I believe
having the red/green lights on the side is perfectly legal, but I'm
looking for a "source." The USCG site seems to be down here.

Anyone? Ferris? Ferris Bueller?

Are you trolling (pun) or just plain stupid. Those lights are there for a
reason. There are lots of rules on those NAV lights. Use them where they
and don't be irresponsible jerk.

For if you modified them out of spec, and if on the jury on your trial, I
would only ask what is the maximum sentence.
