That's why the founding fathers instilled the electoral college. People
who live in cities tend to be reactive and overly excited in all areas
and aspects of life. Any place else, this would be normal life. Boat
builder builds a craft then takes it out for a spin. Nothing more.
Can you imagine, reactive, paranoid, socialist leftists in charge of
this free country? Everything would be illegal and impounded. Most laws
only provide the illusion of safety and security.

If the people were as level headed as they thought they have walked up
and asked to see his workmanship instead of reacting in panic.

Shame.

And if they hadn't breached the security zone, that's probably what would have happened. New York is
probably the least "reactive, paranoid," place in this country.

Shame.

Huh? The thing looked like a floating bomb. The water cops did the right
thing.

Of course they did. In many parts of the world, a .50 caliber would have been the result.

It is truely a shame that NEITHER the Coasties, or NYPD's Police
Harbor Unit recognized the historical replica for what it was! A
HISTORICAL REPLICA OF THE TURTLE! Of course I guess you would have to
be interested in 1. The birth of our nation. 2. Our naval history. 3
History in general. It is true, those that do NOT learn from the past
are doomed to repeat it. The last time this happened It was christened
by Connecticut's governor, Ella Grasso. Oh welll. The only mistake
Philip "Duke" Riley did was not alert the news of his intensions, and
acquire the positive publicity. I agree that if I was responsible for
security of the QM2 I would light off too. Again with the proper intro
this could have been a very positive experience. (except for the
drowning of the pilot)

Running a "boat" that looks more like a floating bomb in the environs of
NYC sounds like something the three stooges would do.
