Any "do-it-yourself" tips? I would like to avoid bribing the boat into the
shop for this. '03 Johnson 115/4S and yes I have a good selection of tools. Should I get a new cotter pin or is the old one good? What type of grease, if any should be applied to the spline? Any torque recs on the castlenned nut or just screw in as far as it will go in with the pin hole alligned? Thanks, Vince |

Thanks, Vince I would replace the cotter pin.........SS one will set you back a whole $0.75 Use waterproof grease. I am sure there are torque recs but I never bothered...I just put the prop on and tightened down the nut (replacing the hardware in reverse order of how I took it off). |

most grease is not water proof. unless specified as such, then it is not.

Steve, you have to remember that the only thing Reggie knows is how to stir the pot. He obviously know nothing about boating. |
