"Midlant" wrote in message ... Do they put that in the manual? I have it on cd (pdf), but the manual covers 15 years of motors. And its the mercury manual. If they didn't they should have. When I had Yamaha's, there was a procedure outlined in the manual that called for so many drops/min out of the feed tube to the engine. This tube was only about 1/8th" i.d. The engine was a 6 cylinder so it had 6 tubes running from the oil pump. Pretty easy to pull one off and watch it drip. Unfortunately, I gave the manual to the new owner of that boat when I sold it so I have no point of reference. I would think as long as its using *some* oil when running, you should be ok. You could add some oil to the gas just to be safe until you verify. db |
