Yeah. I don't understand the notion that lube is not necessary. When
you are talking 300# or more on the tongue - that's a lot of weight at
the coupling to be moving around dry. All that weight will be
grinding on a couple of square inches. Especially on a long trip, I'd
put some grease on it. I keep mine lubed for short trips and my
trailer barely puts 100# on the hitch.
