Default portable gas tank fume

There is an easy to change gasket around the fitting, bolted to the top of
the tank. Buy a new gasket from the local marina and just replace it.

My old mercury tanks had floats in them that were supposed to indicate level
on the clear indicator at the top of the tank. The indicators were really
hard to read and I couldn't stand the constant clunking of the floats when
fishing. I cut the float arms out when I was replacing the gaskets. You
can sense how much fuel you have by picking up the tank and sensing the
weight.

hi all,

I had some gasoline left over in one of my spare tanks (6-gallon,
metal). I can smell the strong fume from it (it has no hose attached
to it now, just the fitting). do I need to get some kind of plug to
plug it? or should I just empty it ? thanks.

oooooh, leftover fuel. the best thing to do with it is irresponsibly set
fire to something. try pouring it in a circle on concrete.... very cool.
