I restrict my boating to max 8' swells and go early to avoid the 2-3' wind seas. Looking like Monday is going to be the day to get Thanksgiving crab. How far out do you go with your 21' er? Farallons? And where do you crab, close to shore? Farallon's on a nice day. You can crab within sight of the shore. Halfmoon Bay we get the best crabbing about 8 miles from the harbor in 100-120' of water. If deeper you want a puller for the pots. Lots of 14' skiffs crab just outside the harbor. Sandy bottom and protected by Colorado Reef. |
