I agree but I also but don't think its entirely fair to blame only the
politicians. After all "we the people" are supposed to have some
involvement in this also, and not just on election day. If we
continue to accept some of this nonsense as politics as usual, without
also voting with our opinions and dollars, this polarization will
continue and it will undermine the democratic process.

Political moderates of all stripes need to make themselves heard, and
not just on rec.boats.
