Make sure the foot is in neutral if the shifter is in neutral (prop
turns both ways without moving shaft)

What does the "foot" mean? Do you mean the shift rod position matches
what it is supposed to be when the remote-throttle-shift is in the
neutual location? I will need to buy a service manual in order to
figure out the right shift rod position is supposed to be.

What does "propeller turns both ways without moving shaft"? I am not
familiar with how the propeller is supposed to act when we put the
motor in neutral.
