I recently tried to register an older trailer in Massachusetts with only a
bill of sale. No VIN or previous title. Went to the RMV and was told no way
on the home built route, no way without the previous title.

I came home and handed the paperwork to my 19 year old daughter. She was
back with the plate in less than an hour.
