Might be advisable to distance yourself from Mr. Smithers.
His aroma is drifting over on you!

He's starting calling people childish names and insults again. He's
going on the downside of one of his bipolar rants. I've learned to tell
when it's coming. Kind of like how some people can tell when someone is
going to have a seizure.

I'm really suprised of your post, especially coming from someone who
see's practicly everything from a legalist point of view. If you're
giong to quote Job...

6 Isn't your piety your confidence? Isn't the integrity of your ways
your hope?

7 "Remember, now, whoever perished, being innocent? Or where were the
upright cut off?

8 According to what I have seen, those who plow iniquity, and sow
trouble, reap the same.

9 By the breath of God they perish. By the blast of his anger are they
consumed.

10 The roaring of the lion, and the voice of the fierce lion, the teeth
of the young lions, are broken.

11 The old lion perishes for lack of prey. The cubs of the lioness are
scattered abroad.

"according to what I have seen" isn't a universal defense for "karma"

Besides, Job was the most rightous man in his time. How misfortunate
that he would be stricken with "bad karma"

(Matthew 6:33): "But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness (pay
what you owe), and all these things will be given to you as well".

Christ speaks on a spiritual plain, "Seek ye first his kingdom"
Doesn't have much to do about "karma" or "an equal of balance" here on
earth.

"Karma" isn't mentioned in the Bible

Are you really so blinded that you need the exact word to get the
message? For a start, go he
http://www.gotquestions.org/karma.html

In Job 4:8 it says, "Even as I have seen they that plow iniquity, and
sow wickedness, reap the same."

Sounds like Karma to me!

(Matthew 6:33): "But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness (pay
what you owe), and all these things will be given to you as well".

Again, sounds like Karma to me! The list goes on, read for yourself

How can you make such an ignorant statement. Ignorant in so many ways!
First, you don't know me. You don't know anything about whether or not
I see "practically everything from a legalist point of view". Pure
horse****.

You're doing quite a good job of making my point and you don't even
realize it!!

So getting back to JimH's problems.....
You didn't wish him bad luck or rejoice in it....*but* you feel his past
actions may have brought this misfortune on him.
Is that correct?

Don,

In this post I was not discussing my belief of Karma, or Karma as I
believe it relates to the comment I made to JimH. This post was made in
reference to TS's request for a biblical reference discussing Karma.

Do you understand that they are many different concepts of Karma,
including the major traditional eastern philosophy's, and the New Age
Concepts of Karma and energy? I know you have stated you prefer the old
days when we use to have lots of political and personal battles in
rec.boats, since this is such a personal issue for JimH, it really isn't
the thread to be stirring the pot.

Were you a step dancer in your younger days?
I just want to know if you were saying Jim's misfortune came upon him from
his past deeds.
Secondly...you know no such thing about my preferences. When did I say I
prefer the 'old days'?

Regarding this thread, this is applicable to the three I now call the
Magnificent Assholes (Reggie Smithers, Bassy and John Herring):

http://www.discussionforums.us/forum.../deadhorse.gif

Perhaps we should shorten the name of that group from the "Magnificent
Assholes" to just "MA".

Eh?

We all know what Reggie was getting at when he made his comment.
All he has to do is admit it and we move on.

It must be that time of month.

Perhaps JimH should spend less time looking for or manufacturing fault with
others and more time taking care of his assets.

Actually, you and your buddy Reggie top the list of those who attempt to
facilitate bad behavior in rec.boats, and it is mildly amusing that both
of you expend so much time denying this.

You two should wear tee-shirts that say: "Who, me?"

I've been away for a week, and return to find another thread dedicated to
net-cops. There was less bickering when the discussion was about
politics...and the political thread contributors at least had the courtesy
of putting "OT" in front of the thread.

It is comical!
I don't know if John's shirt should read..'The Great Facilitator' or
'The Great Pretender'.
