Glad you posted that, Jeff.

BTW, John H's daughter is suffering from breast cancer. Very
mis-fortunate.

I've talked with John, and I'm sure his daughter is a most wonderful person.

so..how does "karma" fit into that situation?

Yes, the good have lifes problems too....

yes, I believe Mr. Smithers is just whistling in the dark and has John
joining the chorus.
Bad s*it happens to good people and some bad people get away with murder.
Maybe Mr. Smithers can explain OJ's karma.

I guess Smithers and John think I am one bad guy. Seeing that my wife is
sharing these experiences with me I guess she must be bad also. And wait,
my son has suffered through these experiences also so he must be bad.

Karma............what a bunch of BS. Some people will believe anything.

BTW: Has Bassy chimed into this thread yet putting me down? I have him
KF'd so I cannot tell, but I would guess he has posted some nasty comments
if he keeps to character.

JimH,
While I am sorry for your the long run of problems, I am sorry I offered
my sympathy. It was not helpful, and appears to have aggravated the
situation.

I don't understand. Earlier today, JimH apologized for his attitude, as he
did yesterday. Now he's down on you (and me) again. Hell, I haven't said
anything all day.

Get the story straight Mr. Spectacular Day.

I never apologized to you.

I apologized to Smithers if I took his initial post the wrong way. My
exact post was:
-------------------------------------------------------------
After going through this series of events I may have taken your
comments the wrong way. If I did, I apologize.

Yesterday was not a good day for me.

-------------------------------------------------------------

Yes, I apologized to Smithers yet continued to be blasted by him/her,
you and Bassie.

I had a series of very bad incidents. Your posts to this thread show
your lack of class or understanding.

'nuff said. The thread says it all. Have a spectacular day John.

BTW: I hope your daughter benefits from the contribution we made to
her fund. We will continue to contribute to the Susan Kohlman fund as
we have always have in the past.

Don,

In this post I was not discussing my belief of Karma, or Karma as I
believe it relates to the comment I made to JimH. This post was made in
reference to TS's request for a biblical reference discussing Karma.

Do you understand that they are many different concepts of Karma,
including the major traditional eastern philosophy's, and the New Age
Concepts of Karma and energy? I know you have stated you prefer the old
days when we use to have lots of political and personal battles in
rec.boats, since this is such a personal issue for JimH, it really isn't
the thread to be stirring the pot.

Were you a step dancer in your younger days?
I just want to know if you were saying Jim's misfortune came upon him
from his past deeds.
Secondly...you know no such thing about my preferences. When did I say I
prefer the 'old days'?

Might be advisable to distance yourself from Mr. Smithers.
His aroma is drifting over on you!

That's a good scripture Reggie, but you ddn't include v.6 through 10
with it:

6Anyone who receives instruction in the word must share all good
things with his instructor.
7Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows.
8The one who sows to please his sinful nature, from that nature[a]will
reap destruction; the one who sows to please the Spirit, from the
Spirit will reap eternal life.
9Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will
reap a harvest if we do not give up.
10Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people,
especially to those who belong to the family of believers.

Paul is talking far above stubbing your toe because you had a bad
thought etc.

And from what I see, it doesn't implecate that doing good you'll always
have good, nor vice versa

Nope

If you want to show me a scripture reference, I'll believe it

Whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. (Ga. 6:7)

Many Christians also see parallels between the Golden Rule as told in
the Gospels and Karma.

That's my story and I am sticking to it!

TS,
I am sorry, you are correct, and I am wrong.

Regarding this thread, this is applicable to the three I now call the
Magnificent Assholes (Reggie Smithers, Bassy and John Herring):

Perhaps we should shorten the name of that group from the "Magnificent
Assholes" to just "MA".

Eh?

"Karma" isn't mentioned in the Bible

Are you really so blinded that you need the exact word to get the
message? For a start, go he
http://www.gotquestions.org/karma.html

In Job 4:8 it says, "Even as I have seen they that plow iniquity, and
sow wickedness, reap the same."

Sounds like Karma to me!

(Matthew 6:33): "But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness (pay
what you owe), and all these things will be given to you as well".

Again, sounds like Karma to me! The list goes on, read for yourself
