First the episode with the ignition switch on my son's car...$650
Next the boat engine overheats and who knows what that will cost. My wife calls me downstairs at about 9:30 this morning to find our basement flooded. The sump pump died and we had torrential rain all night. Our basement is finished and all the carpeting and baseboards are lost, perhaps even the lower course of drywall. Well I just got done installing a new 3/4 hp 4,800 gph unit and I have to wait to let it do it's job. More rain is on the way. What a wonderful holiday weekend. What a great vacation. What's next Lord? Come on......what's next!! |

What's next Lord? Come on......what's next!! The flood waters have risen too high for cars to drive though. The fire department stops and offers the man a ride to safety. He say, Thank you, but I'll trust in the Lord to save me. With the flood waters rising the rescue crew pulls up in a boat and offers the man a ride to safety. He says, Thank you, but I'll trust in the Lord to save me. The man is sitting on his roof to escape the flood waters. A rescue helipcopter flies over and the crew offers to take the man to safety. He say, Thank you, but I'll trust in the Lord to save me. The man drowns. At the gates to heaven the man asks St. Peter why the Lord failed him in spite of his faith. St. Peter says, He sent you a firetruck, a rescue boat, and a rescue helicopter. What more did you want! You're doing all right; you went out and got a new pump. Now start praying. Good luck, Jim. |

More rain is on the way. I'd be renting or buying a healthy sized dehumidifier. Some wallboard is purposefully hung wet. The mission, at this point is to get everything as dry as possible as soon as possible.... .... no guarantees :-( -- Grady-White Gulfstream, out of Oak Island, NC. Homepage http://myworkshop.idleplay.net/ Rec.boats at Lee Yeaton's Bayguide http://www.thebayguide.com/rec.boats We are waiting for a professional water cleanup team to show up. We have a residential grade dehumidifier running already and fans on for circulation. We got everything up off the floor. The carpeting vacuumed dry by these guys, then torn out. I already have a call into our insurance company to notify them that we hired a professional company to mitigate damages. After all the water is sucked up they will be placing 2 industrial sized dehumidifiers and some heavy duty fans to help dry things out. Looks like things will be under control once they show up and go to work. |

Unbelievable that some folks get some sort of twisted pleasure hearing of other folks problems. Instead of offering a word of hope they kick you in the balls with a smile on their face. Karma? My ass. Look within yourself Reggie for some compassion and understanding. Then go take a flying leap and screw yourself. I don't need that type of crap from you, especially today and especially after all the crap I just went through. Anyway....... Looks like the emergency work.........water extraction, carpet tear out and floor cleanup/disinfectant job........will run around $5,000 alone seeing it happened on a holiday. Then we have to replace the carpet and trim....probably another $2,500. Add to that the cost of the boat engine repair staring at me.........while having 2 kids in college. I bet that makes Reggie really happy. |

What kind of horse**** is that? I do hope he gets it all worked out. Hopefully he had sump pump insurance in his homeowners policy (runs about $25/year) and he'll get a new carpet and refinished basement out of it. -- John H ****************************************** ***** Have a Spectacular Day! ***** ****************************************** |
