Happy 06/06/06 Day!!!
Come ON...don't you know that womens bathrooms at gas stations have
grafitti 10X worse than the mens (don't ask how I know). He's unlikely to offend any female boater types. Takes a sure footed, secure woman to make a good skipper or mate. No pansy ass, blue-stockings types here. JR basskisser wrote: Dan J.S. wrote: "Harry Krause" wrote in message m... Dan J.S. wrote: "Shortwave Sportfishing" wrote in message m... No it doesn't make for good behavior, and I didn't imply anything of such. I don't even see how you could read that notion in my sentance. What kind of school does she go to? Your plain old every day public high school. |

You seem to think it's quite exceptable here, though huh? What kind of school does she go to? Your plain old every day public high school. Here they punish kids for that trash talk, as well they should. I want my kids to grow up to be something besides trash talking street thugs. |

Here they punish kids for that trash talk, as well they should. I want my kids to grow up to be something besides trash talking street thugs. I totally agree. John H's comments were likewise correct. A teacher gets cussed at and the kid is a hero to his peers. When I was in high school, a kid through an M-80 in a trash can jsut to impress his other low-life dudes, and it sent a piece of shrapnel into a girls arm. He was deffinately kicked out of school, as well as being arrested. One thing I remember, is when the police cane to pick the kid up, they hand cuffed him, and he was laughing all the way to the squad car. Yeah...impressive. A real man... My daughter is a very clean mouthed kid who is in the top honors, is a "star" in girls basket ball and volley ball, and for one just finishing her sophmore year, has written essays to various orgainizations (American Legion VFW etc), A couple of her papers have reached and won national competition, and for her rewards, and has recieved four scholorships...so far. "I want my kids to grow up to be something besides trash talking street thugs." There always have been, and always will be those that choose this type of path. and yes, you can hear worse comments than marines at the local high school. |

They're talking that way in 7th grade. If corrected, the 7th graders will apologize. By the time they're 9th graders, they for sure won't apologize. I had one kid say, "F... you!" right in my face. He got suspended for a week, but that just makes him famous. Very often people will engage in bad behavior simply because it makes them famous amongst their 'peers'. -- John H ****************************************** ***** Have a Spectacular Day! ***** ****************************************** |

Here they seem to do a good job of creating values that are conducive to getting a decent education and later a job. Our local highschool is always at or close to the top of the various education games, debates etc. The *popular* ones here are the ones who rise to the top academically. At any rate, I doubt that they talk about their breath smelling like they've had oral sex with a disease ridden Phillippino prostitute.... and given that this rec.boats is open to anyone, I don't think such comments are appropriate. |

Only a small percent of the population engage in 'bad' behavior. But the numbers are big enough to be noticeable. Every school has it's winners and losers. The winners are popular with winners, the losers with losers. There are often conflicts between the winners and losers because of envy. Threatening behavior and intimidation will sometimes allow losers to drag folks down to their level of performance. That is the shame of it all. -- John H ****************************************** ***** Have a Spectacular Day! ***** ****************************************** |
