In 200,000 miles I've had fewer problems with the Toyota than I've had with my truck in 50,000 miles. I wouldn't trade my truck for anything, except another truck, but damn I wish my Ford had fewer problems. I just get the oil changed every 5 to 10 thousand miles and I've replaced the tires once. |

But, if you'll go somewhere like kelly blue book, or J.D. Powers, etc. and look at owner satisfaction numbers, repair frequency numbers, etc., you'll find that in most catagories, Japanese cars fair much better than U.S. built vehicles. |

Care to point me to a Japanese vechicle rated to tow a 15,000 lb fifth wheel and I'll consider it. Eisboch |

Eisboch I say the amount of money you will spend on fuel towing a 15,000 lbs fifth wheel, you are better off sleeping in a fancy hotel. |

But, it's pointless because you're using a rarely purchased specialty vehicle* as an example. It may as well be a Caterpillar payloader. * Don't even comment on the statistical meaning of this. Just don't. |

I won't, other than to point out that RV'ing has had a dramatic growth curve in the past few years and the market for products continues to be healthy. I am willing to bet that Toyota or some other Japanese company will, within a couple of years, introduce a truck that can compete with Ford's 250/350 series or GM and Dodge's 2500/3500 lines. What is dangerous is seeing people trying to tow a 30 foot travel trailer and all their gear with a Tundra. Eisboch |

At least some state campgrounds are kind enough to segregate these monstrosities, far from the tent areas, so we don't need to listen to the damned generators that are cranked up at 7:01 AM when quiet hours end. |

That used to burn my ass in some California state parks, they'd give me a tent site right in the middle of those land yachts with their generators running constantly. |
