Gene, you have disappointed Chuck and Harry and their lapdogs by verifying
that Skipper is Skipper. "Gene Kearns" wrote in message ... I just got tired of all of the innuendo and half-truth information, so I thought I'd find out the *real* truth. I just got off the telephone with the *real* Skipper. We had a very pleasant chat about old times and the newsgroup in general. Skipper continues to boat, says he has been spending time away, cruising, and has not checked into the newsgroup for a couple of years. (As you might guess, he like hundreds of others, tired of the infighting and moved on to boating venues with less angst.) HOWEVER, the latest posts by the person identifying himself as "Skipper " IS *TRULY* THE ONE AND ORIGINAL POSTER BY THAT NAME. He believes that his posts accurately reflect his opinions on the matters that he has discussed. (My disclaimer, at this point, is to state that *I* have no personal knowledge of any of the points under consideration and will not endorse either parties position.) This post is meant merely to verify the true identity of the aforementioned poster. Another matter, the one of smithers. I despise what you have been doing to this newsgroup, but I *will,* in all fairness, retract my musings that you were the pseudo skipper. You are not. Apparently, there is no "pseudo Skipper." This behind us, fellows, can we move on to a boating topic that is on more of a positive note. And Skipper, if you read this, thanks for taking the time to talk with me. I'll be dropping you an email..... -- _ ___c \ _| \_ __\_| oooo \_____ ~~~~|______________/ ~~~~~ ~~~ ~~~~~~ ~~~ ~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~ }((((o ~~~~~~ }{{{{o ~~~~~~~ Grady-White Gulfstream, out of Southport, NC. http://myworkshop.idleplay.net/ Homepage* http://www.thebayguide.com/rec.boats Rec.boats at Lee Yeaton's Bayguide |

Harry,
Why can't we all just get along? "Harry Krause" wrote in message ... Bert Robbins wrote: Gene, you have disappointed Chuck and Harry and their lapdogs by verifying that Skipper is Skipper. It is disappointing to see how far into the sewage system Skipper has slipped. He's down there in the stinking ooze with you and a couple of your slimeball buddies here. |

Harry is a bitter old man who lives in a trailer in Souther Maryland and he
drives a beat up old Ford Escort and goes to the shore and watches the fishing boats come and go. Harry can't just get along, there is too much hate in his heart. Bert,
I am willing to give Harry the benefit of the doubt, he just might have a touch of humanity in soul. "Bert Robbins" wrote in message ... view is his opponent and that he will trash them immedaitely. "Smith Smithers" wrote in message ... I have a greater disappointment in seeing your post which only perpetuates this sort of behavior. I, also, have a greater disappointment in watching two knowledgeable and venerable posters publicly duking it out to curry favor from their respective "sides" by declaring that the other is an undesirable person. Are we going to vote on this when it finally dies down? What's the point? Email is for personal issues. This is a personal issue. It should be via email. There can be no resolution, here, it only serves to divide and take people's minds off of their OWN boat and boating efforts. The author of the various attack threads that have fostered this situation has no interest in finding any resolution. Making as large a public stink as possible is his *goal*. He can't even be silenced when one points out the 180-degree inconsistency of his posts for 2000 and 2001 and his current claims on the exact same issue. He isn't the least bit ashamed to be caught red-handed altering another person's remarks and then bracketing the same as if it were a verbatim cut 'n paste. (He needs to support his BIG LIE with a series of little lies or his argument crumbles and the entire fabric disintegrates). You can be assured that if and when Dave Mann stops coming after me in the NG that will be the end of it. You can also be assured, based on his history, that if Dave stops coming after me it will be only because he's found a fresh target for his lies and flaming. I am sensitive to your distress, Gene, but if reading Psuedo's latest hallucinations and allegations or my rebuttal to same are upsetting to you, I would suggest you not open threads titled "Chuck Gould's Business Ethics" "Chuck Gould's Boating Knowledge" "Open Letter to Chuck Gould" etc. Especially when the author is Dave Mann. Thanks for your concern about the situation. The phone call to Psuedo was above and beyond, especially since if you were following the exchanges between Psuedo and myself at all you would have been aware that I several days or more ago I grudgingly conceded the culprit behind the attack crusade was almost certainly Dave Mann. |

Chuck, I wouldn't worry about it. Those of us who knew the "old" Skipper are unlikely to put much stock in what the "new" Skipper has to say either. I met a couple last week in the Chesapeake who are in the process of taking a Skookum 53 down to Venezuela. Couldn't help but think of old Skippy and his mal-de-mer bride setting off on a boat like that. It's amazing what these 30 year old Skookums are going for: http://tinyurl.com/cguqd |

I don't think Skipper ever owned a Bayliner 22' cruiser, either. Why the
hell would you want a boat like that if you lived in Derby, Kansas? Cost?? Bass boats and deck boats can run into $$$s. Bayliner 22s are available for chump change. |

What kind of boat do you own Smithers? Where do you boat?
"Smith Smithers" wrote in message . .. Harry, Really do you think anyone besides you have made up an imaginary boat?
