The only fact that wasn't anonymised was Skipper's real identity,
which I had saved from another era in rec.boats when people weren't so
worried about responding to hooded posters neurotically compelled to
grind personal axes. Posters actually sought boating help from other
boaters and weren't afraid to post their address in seeking same.

Thanks to some here with one foot across the lunatic fringe, there is
ample anger and distrust with too little substantial boating
information.



It's always been mostly the right-wingers who worked to conceal their
identities here. "Smithers" is a perfect example.

Why does one have to reveal their real identity here? Even the experts
agree that it is actually not a prudent thing to do.
