So what sized outboard did you end up with for that inflatable, and did
performance meet your expectations?

Got a 9.5ft Brig (Dingo D285 - see www.brig.com), and have a 55-lb-thrust
Minn Kota electric on it. Goes 6 knots! Also, not as bad to row as I
expected, although the oars that came with it suck.

Thanks for asking!

Lloyd, don't deprive all of us Central Canadians (Pat, our un-moderator, is
from Ottawa, still a thousand miles from the "East") of your occasional
discussions of Wet Coast boating. I read them all! But I visit enough
forums, wouldn't add another to my list.

Hi,

I've been frequenting a wonderful fishing forum full of great local
folks, but I've been wishing for a similar board for boating. I've seen a
few "Canadian" forums, but they all seem centered around the east (as is
can.rec.boating). Is there a boating forum with a West-coast flavour?

If not, I'm thinking of setting one up. Anyone wanna join?

Oh, I've given up on this forum for boating a long time ago!

And trust me, Ottawa is EAST! Reminds me of when I was driving across
Canada and got to Toronto. Most folks there said I was about 1/2-way
across - make that 3/4!

What would a "West Coast Boating Forum" have that this ng doesn't have?

1. No American Politics
2. Long, heated discussions on the fate of Todd Bertuzzi
3. No posts on "winterizing"
4. No American Politics
5. directions to "secret" anchoring spots on Lasquitti
6. Long, heated discussions on flossing
7. Posts derating anyone who mistakes a ho for a chum
8. Lists of boat-ramp locations
9. Hints on "secret" fishing lakes with footballs and lunkers
10. No American Politics!

Sounds like an idea. I can't find anyone on the Canadian west coast,
either. Not on line, that is. ;-)

OK, it's ONLINE!

http://www.bcboatnet.org

If you boat on the West Coast of Canada (or even the US "Pacific
Northwest"), you're welcome to join the forum. Come one, come all!
