My mast head has two shackles...
The larger is attached to the main halyard, and the smaller one attached
to a block that the topping lift is fed through.

note: Since above picture, I've installed a 3rd shackle...this time on
the forward edge of the masthead casting to help in raising singlehanded.

Sure. Put a Y-shaped foot on each A-frame member, rounded to fit the
contour of the gun'l & pad w carpet, and brace it between the fwd
chainplate & lifeline stanchion.

That's a reefing hook. Are there grommets further up along the forward
edge of the sail, with corresponding grommets along the back edge?
That's for securing the lower area sail down in heavy winds. The forward
grommet or reef point goes on the hook, saves time over shackling it.

That's on the aft side, right? I'd guess it's for a topping lift. It may
be there for raising the mast, or securing it when trailering.
