I need help getting started in boating. I am interested in operating a
small boat with a motor under 10-15 feet. (not a sailboat or a speedboat). For the sea area for recreational boating around for fun. I am located in Queens NY. I realize that I need to take boating safety classes. So I will contact the USCGA soon. But I can not seem to find any answer on the web. Here are some of my question: Do I need a license and insurance? Do I need a drivers (car) license? I do not have a car, where do I keep my boat? Would it coat me money to dock it on a pier or by the shore? During cold winters, can a boat stay dock in water? Thank you, SR! |
