Quite possible. A number of Sandpiper sailors modified their rigging to
include blocks at the base of the mast to lead the halyards aft to the
cockpit. I'll be doing same by next spring. With the standard rigging
you have to stand at the base of the mast to raise/lower the main.
Awkward when singlehanded.
