If my neighbors or anyone else was stranded in a flooded hell - I don't think I would blame them for breaking into my house and "looting" my fridge, freezer and pantry. I wouldn't feel the same way about someone swimming in to steal my TV, but I don't that's what we're seeing in most cases. What if you knew that TV would finance their ability to buy food or safety in the near future? I seriously doubt that these people have the type of lives that would allow them to take that tv and xbox back home, plop down on the couch, and enjoy it for very long. They're probably going to be (or hoping to be) selling it to the next guy in order to get what they need to survive soon enough. You think there is much of a market for stolen TVs in New Orleans? You paint an interesting picture, though I doubt it is realistic. |
