I have had 1997 350 with electronic Ignition. Can anyone offer advise on
how to properly set the timing on this puppy? |

Kevin,
I guess what you meant to say is "No, I can not advise you on how to properly set your timing". wrote in message ups.com... nate wrote: I have had 1997 350 with electronic Ignition. Can anyone offer advise on how to properly set the timing on this puppy? Most are electronically timed these days. |

Timing on most engines these days is ran by the computer, Smithers. Timing is controlled by various sensors such as temp, ambient temp, knock sensors, etc. |

On my 4.3L S10 you had to pull a wire to disable the computer timing when setting the initial timing. |

Do you have to disconnect any wires when adjusting the timing?

I can't get the full rpm's. Slushish out of the hole. It has a slight
ting. The distrubutor will twist back & forth when the distrubutor hold down bolt is loosened. I've tried a few different settings and it does seem to effect performance, so doesn't this mean that it's adjustable? wrote in message oups.com... nate wrote: Do you have to disconnect any wires when adjusting the timing? Nate,
As I tried to tell you, it is useless talking to atl_man. What he meant to say is "I can not help you". "nate" wrote in message . .. I can't get the full rpm's. Slushish out of the hole.
