Default Briggs & Stratton 5 hp

Anybody have experience with the Briggs & Stratton 5 hp 4-cycle outboard?

They can be purchased for $600-$700 brand new which is way cheaper than any
other 4 stoke outboards that I looked at.

Here's the link from the company website:

I'd just be using it on my inflatable so it wouldn't be getting much use.
Looks like a pretty good deal as long it's not junk!

The only comments I've heard is that the little unit is a bit on the *loud*
side.

Other than that, I think it got good reviews.

Google for this subject, it has been discussed here before.

Ugly awkward funny to look at but runs like a Deere.

After 10 years in the mower business, I can tell you that Briggs seems to
have chosen the low road. I consider them junk.

I've heard the Briggs outboard trolling. It is air cooled and very loud. If
money is your only consideration, go for it!
