Yes, it is the mounting bracket that makes all the noise. All the
joints and flex points are loose. when the motor starts on high speed all the slack is taken up at once and make all kinds of creaks and groanes. Perhaps a different mount will help. Paul (Paul Dougherty) wrote in message . com... I have a 47 pound thrust minnkota motor on the bow of my boat. At 5 (it highest setting) the motor thrust makes all kind of noise as the brackets and linkage tighten. Does anyone have a circuit for soft starting the motor? Meaning, slowly bringing the motor up to full speed over several seconds and not all at once. I would guess the motor draws 30 amps or so. I know it less than 40 because it has a 40 amp fuse. I normally only run it at 3 but sometime wind or current require 5. I think the excess noise can scare the fish. Any suggestions are welcome. Thanks Paul |
