![]() "Paul Dougherty" wrote in message om... I have a 47 pound thrust minnkota motor on the bow of my boat. At 5 (it highest setting) the motor thrust makes all kind of noise as the brackets and linkage tighten. Does anyone have a circuit for soft starting the motor? You wouldn't be able to add an external motor control because it would really mess up the internal control. It would be possible to disassemble the control head, grab the two wires that actually go to the motor (they will be the biggest two out of 5 or 6) and them make your own controller that would provide a soft start. If you were really creative you might even be able to utilize the switching transistors that are mounted down in the motor housing and thus utilize the water cooling (that is what the other wires are for that travel down the pipe to the motor). That would be way more work than fixing your mount, however. Rod |
