I'm trying to remove the impeller from a very old (ca. 1965) Merc 110 (9.8
hp). I got the lower unit removed without incident and took the top off the water pump. The Seloc shop manual I have says that the impeller can be pried off with a screw driver. This thing will not budge. I've pretty much ripped off the rubber parts of the impeller trying to pull it up the drive shaft. What remains frozen to the drive shaft looks like a brass nut. I've tried to soak it in liquid wrench. Before I get out a chisel and/or dremel tool and cut it off, does anyone have any words of wisdom? Thanks. Cam |
