Default Impeller help needed

I'm trying to remove the impeller from a very old (ca. 1965) Merc 110 (9.8
hp).

I got the lower unit removed without incident and took the top off the water
pump.

The Seloc shop manual I have says that the impeller can be pried off with a
screw driver. This thing will not budge. I've pretty much ripped off the
rubber parts of the impeller trying to pull it up the drive shaft. What
remains frozen to the drive shaft looks like a brass nut. I've tried to
soak it in liquid wrench.

Before I get out a chisel and/or dremel tool and cut it off, does anyone
have any words of wisdom?

Thanks.

I like the Dremel idea if you can cut a slot in the brass without eating into
the shaft. Be very careful with heat, hammers or too much force. You could
trash a seal or bearing and be into the foot.

Try PB blaster. Its a decent product. Use it twice a day for a few days and
shock it a bit with a few hits. (be reasonable)

For what it's worth, I did some judicious work with a hammer and cold
chisel - carefully. The brass hub was actually pretty soft and broke off
easily. Thanks for all suggestions.
