A friend of mine has blown the motor in his boat. Apparently the exhaust
went bad, #1 piston has a hole in it. We don't have it torn apart yet. Is it possible to rebuild, new bearings, pistons and rings? Or should we just drop in a new longblock? Found one for $1800.00, is that a good price? Can anyone recommend a better source? I have re-built and replaced motors in cars before, but this will be the first boat. Is there anything I need to watch out for? Am I nuts for attempting this? TIA, Rich |
