Williams, the Naismith Trophy High School Player of the Year, announced his decision Wednesday at his high school. I thought that I heard that Congress was considering legislation to set an age limit for players entering the NBA. I thought the NBA itself was considering such action. That would be a better solution than Congressional action. But it should be done, I think. But, then, what about all the high schoolers who turn pro in tennis, soccer, et cetera? Bit of a sticky wicket, eh Congress should make no law either for or against the minimum age of being drafted into the NBA or any orther professional sports league. The people that want the law are the colleges due to the fact that they believe that they want to protect their ability to make money off of these amatuer athletes without compensating them. By the way, since we are off-topic, I have expanded my personal hottie list to include Mira Sorvino. You are late to the party on Mira! |
