Default Crusader 185 engine (292 cid L6 chevy )

This engine is in a small comm salmon troller.
What is the reqired PCV valve for this engine? (not in manuals)
What can I do about the Rochester 2G carb to get better fuel consumption?
What can be done about gas "slobbering" from main venturis?
What setting on inline fuel presure regulator?
Any other comments regarding care and feeding of this engine!

I'd go with the stock PVC for that engine from an auto parts store.
Carb sounds like it needs a rebuild and float height adjustment which is
easy on that one. The hardest part is getting it boiled out good, especially
if you ever got salt water in the gas. (**** happens).
Fuel pump should put out 4-6 lbs at 500 rpm.
You might consider electronic ignition. No more burn't points.
I also have a CH185 and would like to find a complete rebuilt engine but
they seem hard to find!
Anyone have any ideas?

Might look at an older Toyota Land Cruiser 6 cyl. I think this engine
design was bought from GM and only change is metric bolts.

I'm guessing this is a little older? The inline 6 right? You don't say the
year. Probably did not have a pvc valve if it was intended for marine use.
You can put one on if you want to and can find a vacuum port on the bottom
of the carb, any generic one will do. Not sure what you mean about gas
"slobbering" from the mains. You mean it does that when not running or just
at idle? Make sure the timing is right, idle speed is right and it is
idling on the idle circuit and not on the mains. It could mean the float is
sticking. If you mean while it is running, watching the venturis on most
carbs does look like the gas dribbles out when you just rev it up with no
load.. If you put a load on it that will change. I'm not familiar with an
inline pressure regulator, it does not have a mechanical fuel pump? Not
sure you are going to make any dramatic improvements in gas usage, it is in
a boat. The inline 6's are quite reliable, they were used practically
forever. The v6 replaced them but not for reliability reasons. Change the
oil regularly is the best thing you can do for it.
