I am looking for new drain plugs (3 of them) they all appear the same and
look to be 3/8" diameter thread and are a 7/16" head... they are for a '77 mercruiser 140HP 181 engine. I am looking for atleast a part number for them or something simular or if they are something easy to get somewhere other then my local marine shop that wants $14ea for them and wont give me a part number Thanks in advance. They are probably 1/4" pipe thread. Take one of the plugs if you have it to
the local auto parts store. They carry a selection of brass plugs. Bill "John H" wrote in message ... Take an old one to Lowes and match it up in the plumbing section. Cost
about $1.00 each. -- Tony my boats and cars at http://t.thomas.home.mchsi.com "M.E." wrote in message ... Those must be the units with the letter "U" cast into the head of the plug. They come with written instructions: "Best installed by inserting plug and screwing U". |

If I were you, I'd go to the local auto parts house and purchase petcocks
instead of plugs. This will make winterizing much easier and the petcocks are not expensive. Don Dando "M.E." wrote in message ...
