Default Finding the right prop

This newbie has a question - how to find the PROPer prop for my boat.
I dinged my prop last fall (fortunately at the end of the season) and have
since had it repaired, but think that I should get a spare. With all of the
options, (# of blades, pitch, etc. etc. etc) how to I get a plain old ordinary
replacement one. By taking some number off of my boat motor?
This is for a 2000 Bayliner 1950 Capri with 3.0Liter MercCruiser I/O.

Thanks for any advice,
Joe
