I've seen the Newfoundlanders sell seal flippers right on the waterfront in
St. John's as a delicacy. I've also seen the seal skin garments and trinkets. I've never eaten or bought anything made of seal but many people apparently like to. BTW the Norwegians were also regular hunters, although I'm not sure if they have continued. The thing is...it's no worse than snaring rabbits or using the leghold traps for other game. |
