![]() We have plenty of life jackets on board to meet the requirements. But they are just the 4-to-a-Box ones you get from West Marine. I'm thinking we should have some decent ones on board. A friend used to have one that fit more like a wind-breaker than a life-preserver. I like that idea because I'd probably actually wear it more often. Any reccomendations on brands that wear well, etc.? |

I solo sail a lot, and a couple of years ago my Daughter in Law got me one of those self inflating vests (she also made me promise to wear it) Very comfortable -- some times I forget I have it on. |

Do you have it on now? BB Seeing how it's so comfortable, I'll bet you made him look!!! Just kidding Jim, I have one of those, too, called Sospenders. |

Any reccomendations on brands that wear well, etc.? I have the Mustang jacket which is a good one and an Orca inflatable. Of the two, I prefer the Orca as it's much more versatile. The Mustang is heavier and it gets very hot to wear in marginal weather. The Orca is a multi-function jacket that can convert to a vest system which I like more. In cold weather, I wear the Mustang. Remember, if you opt for an inflatable, it has to be worn to count as a life preserver if you are stopped by law enforcement. Just having it aboard does not count - it has to be worn. Later, Tom |

In our cold climate, most people have the longer coat version. see http://ca.binnacle.com/online/produc...&pf%5Fid=16175 |

Had some snow, so I had to get some pics of the yellow GT with some white in the background. http://pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/jherring1/my_photos Don't look at the fishing pics! -- John H "All decisions are the result of binary thinking." |

Later, Tom Since we have cold water and not so cold temperatures, I have a Sterns Float Coat for the cold days on the ocean, or delta. Is very comfortable. Is not as long as the Mustang long coat. |

I tried one of those, but it didn't fit right. Nice jackets though. Later, Tom |
