Tim,
Not stupid at all.
The boat has two engines, the port side tach is working fine.
I can't find the sender on that one either.
By buddy says that both were working ok, then the starboard started
working intermittently.

if this is a new engine, it probably doesn't have one, and must be
supplied by the tach mfj.
