I've no problem Synergy of Purpose. Of course there are going to be
similarities
of purpose and goal between various businesses, governments, and
individuals.
The question is whether what some of these people are doing is wrong --
either
by US Law, the laws of the countries we're dealing with, international law,
or (mostly) from a moral standpoint.

In the book the author makes is know that HE feels that some of the tactics
used
are wrong. My biggest complaint with the book is that while he makes is
clear that
HE thinks ist's wrong, he makes very little attempt to convince the reader
that these
tactics should be considered wrong by the standards of any laws or morals
other than
his own. And he doesn't even go into why he things it's wrong - other that
to state that
what has happened and that he thinkgs it's wrong.

Again, it's not the "Synergy" part that is bothersome. Synergy can be a
great thing. It's
the specific "Purpose" part that may, in this case, be wrong. And if the
purpose is wrong
then the "synergy" part -- the fact that a large number of very powerful
people and
institutions are all pursuing this same purpose -- just makes it *more*
troubling.
