Or reality :-) Maybe that's why NOYB is thoroughly convinced that his little swamp town is the greatest place on earth, with the greatest people, the best of everything. Hehehe. Those swampbillies sure have a lot of money. My little swamp town just raised $12 million for underserved children this past Saturday at our Winter Wine Festival auction. So, NOYB, how much time have you spent in Snellville to be able to say such things? Also, is money your sole qualification for how nice a place is to live? That's all? Of course not. I went boating/fishing on Friday and Sunday this weekend. I went Saturday. I also went to see Phantom of the Opera, and ate at a Fodor's top 100 restaurant Saturday night...and only had to drive 20 minutes from my house to do both. I can do the same from MY house. I watched the Superbowl yesterday while sitting on my lanai I watched sitting on my deck, with about 20 other people, that were around my age, NOT retirees. in shorts and a a href="http://www.serverlogic3.com/lm/rtl3.asp?si=11&k=t%20shirt" onmouseover="window.status='t-shirt'; return true;" onmouseout="window.status=''; return true;"t-shirt/a. I haven't decided whether I'll go boating 2 or 3 days this coming weekend...or if I'll go golfing on one of those days instead. I don't golf. The following weekend, I planning on driving 90 minutes across Alligator Alley to attend the World's largest boat show. Whoopee! Several weekends after that, I'll be towing my boat down to the Keys for some much-needed R&R...and be back in time for my 8am patient on Monday. IF I were to live in FL again, it'd be the Keys, not quite so many retired zombies there. By then it will be April/May...and the world's greatest tarpon, kingfish, and snook fishery comes alive just minutes from the dock behind my house. Bass and stripers here. It's hard to believe that all of these great things are available in my lil' ol' "swamp" town...plus the most millionaires per capita than anywhere else in the country. Again, fine, if you like living with the Depends set. |

Again, fine, if you like living with the Depends set. North Collier Hospital, which is about 2 miles from my house, delivers 300 babies/month. They're not being conceived by "the Depends set". Naples also has 4 public high schools, and 4 private schools that go through grade 12. They're not attended by "the Depends set". There are people, such as yourself, that are needed to change those Depends, etc. Take a look at the median age of Naples, compared to other places. Remember now, statistic wise, a couple of years means a lot. You like statistics, eh? Then you'll really like this statistic: "Between 1995 and 2000, *NAPLES, FLORIDA*.; Las Vegas; Charlotte, N.C.; Atlanta; and Portland, Ore., were the major cities that saw the greatest growth among single people 25 to 39 who had college diplomas, according to the bureau's first-ever report on the subject." http://www.theolympian.com/home/spec...4/140664.shtml Hehe! had to look long and hard for that, huh? Let's have a look see at the median ages!!!!! Jeez, I wonder why, if Naples isn't a dying field for old farts, why is there more assisted living units in Naples than just about any area in the U.S. The only place there are more are ALSO in Fl. 30% of Naples' population falls between the ages of 45 and 64. 27% of the population of Snellville falls between 45 and 64. The per capita income in Naples is $61,141. In Snellville, it's $25,992. Why are these statistics important? Since the 45 to 64 year old age group is the group of folks most likely to: a) have dental problems, b) have the money to pay for their dental needs, and c) actually take the time to go to the dentist, Naples is the ideal location for a dentist...especially a dentist who likes to boat and fish. If you're a boater and/or fisherman, then the next statistics become important: Naples: 14.4 sq. mi., of which 2.4 sq mi. is water Snellville: 9.7 sq. mi., of which 0.04 sq mi. is water Naples avg. winter temps: 67 (Dec), 66 (Jan), 67 (Feb) Atlanta avg. winter temps: 45 (Dec), 43 (Jan), 46 (Feb) Naples avg. Summer temps: 82 (June), 83 (July), 83 (August) Atlanta avg. Summer temps: 77 (June), 79 (July), 79 (August) Naples Highest Recorded temps: 96 (June), 98 (July), 97 (Aug) Atlanta Highest Recorded temps: 101 (June), 105 (July), 102 (Aug) Source: www.weatherbase.com |

" The grand total far surpasses last year's giving of $7.6 million, a number that had elevated the event to the most successful wine charity auction in the world. The Naples wine festival surpassed even the prestigious Napa Valley festival. " http://www.naplesnews.com/npdn/news/...526840,00.html If they auctioned off the entire town (and possessions) of Snellville, they probably couldn't raise half as much money as a single day auction in Naples. So, NOYB, how much time have you spent in Snellville to be able to say such things? Also, is money your sole qualification for how nice a place is to live? That's all? Of course not. I went boating/fishing on Friday and Sunday this weekend. I went Saturday. I didn't have to cut a hole in the ice. Neither did I. Where to hell did that idea pop in your head? I also went to see Phantom of the Opera, and ate at a Fodor's top 100 restaurant Saturday night...and only had to drive 20 minutes from my house to do both. I can do the same from MY house. I watched the Superbowl yesterday while sitting on my lanai I watched sitting on my deck, with about 20 other people, that were around my age, NOT retirees. So you like sitting around outside in 40 degree weather? Most people prefer Florida weather. It was 64. You can't help but lie, can you? The temperature in Snellville when the game started at 6pm ET was in the mid 50's. By the end of the game, it had dipped to the upper 40's. Here's historical data for Snellville: http://www.wunderground.com/history/...lyHistory.html Hehe, I don't live in Snellville. Look at P'tree-Dekalb airport history for Sunday. 61. It was 64 on my deck. Did I say that it stayed the same temp. all night? You must remember, I lived in FL for many years, therefore I know what I'm talking about. Hehehe. Yeah, according to you, you lived in Naples... in SE Florida. Never made a mistake, NOYB? I'll bet I've spent more years in Florida than YOU have!!!! BTW--When did Naples move to the west coast? How long did you live in the Atlanta area? I'd never do something so stupid. Yeah, nobody would want you here. So, admittedly, you've never lived here. Then, what makes you an expert on the area? in shorts and a a href="http://www.serverlogic3.com/lm/rtl3.asp?si=11&k=t%20shirt" onmouseover="window.status='a href="http://www.serverlogic3.com/lm/rtl3.asp?si=11&k=t%20shirt" onmouseover="window.status='a href="http://www.serverlogic3.com/lm/rtl3.asp?si=11&k=t%20shirt" onmouseover="window.status='a href="http://www.serverlogic3.com/lm/rtl3.asp?si=11&k=t%20shirt" onmouseover="window.status='t-shirt'; return true;" onmouseout="window.status=''; return true;"t-shirt/a'; return true;" onmouseout="window.status=''; return true;"t-shirt/a'; return true;" onmouseout="window.status=''; return true;"t-shirt/a'; return true;" onmouseout="window.status=''; return true;"t-shirt/a. I haven't decided whether I'll go boating 2 or 3 days this coming weekend...or if I'll go golfing on one of those days instead. I don't golf. The cows and goats get in the way? Bet there's more cows in Collier County than in Dekalb. The following weekend, I planning on driving 90 minutes across Alligator Alley to attend the World's largest boat show. Whoopee! I figured that since you're on a boating newsgroup, you'd have an interest in boats. I figured wrong. There is a huge boat show at the World Congress Center each year, and then several smaller ones. Whoopee, because apparently you think that because you live in Naples, you are the only one able to attend a flippin' boat show, which is quite funny! Not any ol' boat show. The world's largest boat show. You can even go on sea trials at the show. Can you do that at the World Congress Center? So it HAS to be the biggest (by the promoter's standards) to be of any value? No other boat show in the world would do, huh? Several weekends after that, I'll be towing my boat down to the Keys for some much-needed R&R...and be back in time for my 8am patient on Monday. IF I were to live in FL again, it'd be the Keys, not quite so many retired zombies there. By then it will be April/May...and the world's greatest tarpon, kingfish, and snook fishery comes alive just minutes from the dock behind my house. Bass and stripers here. I'm talking about in my backyard...not some 40 minute drive to a land-locked lake. Big deal. I don't have to deal with the Depends generation minute by minute. And, Lake Lanier is considered one of the best spotted bass fisheries in the U.S. Then, within a few hours there are many, many beautiful lakes available to me. It's hard to believe that all of these great things are available in my lil' ol' "swamp" town...plus the most millionaires per capita than anywhere else in the country. The per capita income in Naples is $61,141. In Snellville, it's $25,992. Why are these statistics important? I don't know. Perhaps because you are enamored with Snellville, for some reason? Now, take a look at your percentages above. Naples has a much bigger population than Snellville. Since the 45 to 64 year old age group is the group of folks most likely to: a) have dental problems, b) have the money to pay for their dental needs, and c) actually take the time to go to the dentist, Naples is the ideal location for a dentist...especially a dentist who likes to boat and fish. Yes, I've said all along, you are only interested in the money aspect. You forgot to include stats for above 64 years old, why is that? If you're a boater and/or fisherman, then the next statistics become important: Naples: 14.4 sq. mi., of which 2.4 sq mi. is water Snellville: 9.7 sq. mi., of which 0.04 sq mi. is water Naples avg. winter temps: 67 (Dec), 66 (Jan), 67 (Feb) Atlanta avg. winter temps: 45 (Dec), 43 (Jan), 46 (Feb) Naples avg. Striper fishing here is best in moderately cool weather. Also, you made a statement that you had gone fishing, I said I did too, and you said but I didn't have to break the ice. Now, look at your averages above. How much ice do you think formed on the lakes at a COLDEST average temp of 43? Now, again, what temps above does it look like you can't boat and fish in the area? |

But I would not sit outside on my porch watching the entire game when it was warm and cozy inside...the only exception being if it were a tailgate party setup as Bassy may have had, especially considering he had 20 friends over. We do that for some OSU games but eventually come inside to watch most of the game. Snellville, GA certainly has far more temperate temperatures than Avon Lake, OH so I can not kid him about the weather. |
