What kind of bait and tackle were you using? A squirrelfish (about 9 inches long) on a 2 1/2 oz. lead-head jig, 4 feet of 100 lb mono, and 50lb Powerpro on an Okuma 65 spinning reel. The bait was intended for a gag grouper (thus the mono leader)...but beggars can't be choosers. The leader broke as soon as I got a gaff in his tail. |
