I remember Humpty on the wall leading up to the Nato (IIRC) base. She was there for all 5 Med cruises I made. Remember the "Bennies" by the castle? Clay She has become a bit of a world celebrity. I was there for a couple of years in '69 and '70 and she had been there for quite a while before that time. I recently found a picture of her on the web -- apparently she continued in business at the same location until well into the 80's. I don't remember "Bennies". My ship was homeported in Naples harbor, so when I got off duty, I beat feet up to our apartment behind the AFSouth communications station (near the hospital). I do remember all the campfire girls though. Eisboch |
