Gould,
I never called you an asshole. I called you a bigot. The definition of bigot is: "One who is strongly partial to one's own group, religion, race, or politics and is intolerant of those who differ." If you believe in having a debate comparing and contrasting ideas and perspectives, why would you ever say " Suburbia, the primarily lily white land of cultural conformity". I disagreed, as one who did live in suburbia. I stated that a large percent of those who live in suburbia were minorities. In your bigoted mind, that could not be true. To validate your premise you said " I recently attended a business function at a new, golf course community in the Cascade foothills- about 20-25 miles from downtown Seattle. This place is brand new. They are going to hold a PGA tournament there in 2005 or 2006. The houses are all painted various shades of beige, all have the same roofing, the same windows, etc. Two or three new sections are still under construction, and all the $1mm plus houses are painted various shades of beige. While I didn't go door to door and do a survey, I did see some diversity while I was there... a number of minorities worked for the catering company- (but I'll bet you a buck they weren't living in the immediate community)." didn't go door to door and do a survey, I did see some diversity while I was there... a number of minorities worked for the catering company- (but I'll bet you a buck they weren't living in the immediate community)." Why do you believe minorities could not (or would not) live in million dollar community? Why would you comment about minorities who worked at the clubhouse, to reinforce your premise that suburbia is lily white? Why would you use a million dollar community as being representative of suburbia? Someone who is bigoted against blacks would use a similar argument. " I recently attended a business function downtown. Since I normally don't go downtown (the place is overrun by blacks) I took a wrong turn and ended up in the ghetto. The place was falling apart, with drug dealers on every corner. Trash littered the streets and their yards. Their houses were falling apart. These people may not be able to afford a more expensive home, but why do they have to live like pigs? I did see a few white people, but I would bet you a buck they didn't live in that neighborhood. If black people are our equal, why do they live in such filth? While I didn't go door to door and do a survey, my guess is that every household had a family member who is in prison. " Your comments were bigoted, and I told you so. I find your comments to be just as repulsive as those who believe minorities are inferior. I also believe the minorities who live in suburbia would find your comments to offensive. Your response was to ignore our contrasting ideas and perspectives and decided to start pitching dirty little insult turds "Gould 0738" wrote in message ... It looks like you realize you have lost the debate and now are resorting to personal insults concerning my sentence structure and syntax. No dice, Doc. When you introduce the concept "Gould is an asshole....." to a discussion you have broached a subject over which there is little or any debate. Gould is an asshole. Operational difference between Gould and some of the rest of the assholes here 'bouts is that he isn't a non-boating asshole trolling through rec.boats for purposes of picking fights with one specific poster and then expanding the mission to include anybody who might seem slightly philosophically aligned with the initial target. Gould, this is not the New Yorker. This is Usenet and it is common for people to jot off quick retorts and they will make typos and/or grammatical errors. It's more common for some than for others. Sloppy grammar is a sign of intellectual sloth, at best, and wears awkwardly on those who presume to criticize others for their deductive reasoning processes and conclusions. The fact still stands that you are extremely bigoted against those who have different beliefs or values. Naw, just against other assholes like myself. Maybe a little moreso against intellectual weaklings who run out of ammo somewhere around the second volley and start pitching dirty little insult turds ( an emotional payoff practice suspected more frequently now to be the only reason they appeared to engage in debate in the first place) rather than comparing and contrasting ideas and perspectives. |

Would your comments qualify as "dirty little insult turds".
I was highlighting the differences between our contrasting ideas and perspectives, you prefer to use personal insults instead of debating our different perspectives. My comment about you being a bigot was not an insult, it was an observation that your comments and beliefs are bigoted. "Gould 0738" wrote in message ... Your bigotry extends beyond beliefs and values. It extends to where someone How funny. A supposedly grown man who selects the "send" function, and then has to jump back in with a fresh post because he realizes there is still some venom left in the sac. :-) Grade yourself an A for this one. You exceed all previous expectations. |

Just as the comment that set you off, (that you couldn't understand my point because you were choosing not to), was an observation, not an insult. I'll have to remember the rules he 1. If Dr Dr Taco Whatever runs a side thread with one of his high fivers making negative comments about Gould, those aren't insults, they are "observations". 2. If Dr Dr Taco Whatever calls Gould a bigot or any other derogatory name, that is not an insult, it's an observation. 3. Any comment of any type made by Gould will be considered an insult for purposes of seeking any excuse to diverit a thread into a series of personal comments under the "But, Mommy, *he* started it!" treaty provision. Once we have the rules defined, it becomes easier to anticipate your now very predictable MO. I "observe" that your goal in a discussion is to drag it down to a level of insult exchange at the first opportunity. Too bad, really, as you often seem a bit brighter than some folks who hang around only to fire off insults. (Watch those same bright folks take offense at that last sentence.) :-) |

Exactly, and providing a description is not a racial slur.
Do you describe your white neighbors as white? Honest answer, please..... |

Why do you believe minorities could not (or would not) live in million
dollar community? I said that the only minorities I observed were *working for the catering company*, and I'd be willing to bet they didn't live in the community. Do lower tier restaurant and catering company workers routinely buy seven-figure homes where you live? If so, your minimum wage must be about $100 an hour. Why would you use a million dollar community as being representative of suburbia? Having a $1mm home in the Pac NW makes you upper middle class. Common as BMW, Lexus and Hummer automobiles. The newly built suburban developments in locations within about 15 or 20 miles of downtown Seattle are commonly priced in that category. What should I use instead? A tract of rickety-tick Section 8 apartments? |

Perhaps, but only when you don't snip your entire message when posting my response to it. As you well know I was in fact responding to these comments of yours that you conveniently left off your reply: ------------------- 1. 3. I "observe" that your goal in a discussion is to drag it down to a level of insult exchange at the first opportunity. ------------------------------------ Perhaps I should start adding some all encompassing closing lines to my posts as you seem to be doing lately. That way I can conveniently deflect any incoming criticism as you most often seem to do. However, as I am a man willing to stand behind what I write I will leave that MO to you. Have a nice day Chuck. |

As smart as you are, Gould, you still have not figured out that Taco Breath and his high fivers are no more valuable than intestinal gas in a space suit. |
