![]() "Karl Denninger" wrote in message news:iU5id.3791 Bush got a majority of the popular vote. Clinton never managed that. Bush's party kicked Daschle out of the Senate. Clinton never managed to do anything like that at the ballot box. The Republicans picked up BOTH senate and house seats. Again, Clinton never managed any such thing. The bottom line is that the Democrats lost - and lost BADLY. The people have spoken. Send Michael Moore, Howard Dean and their brand of radical stupidity HOME, and the Democrat party has a chance to regain relevance. Keep up what you guys did this time, and next election the Republicans will have a 60-seat Senate majority - then the Democrats may as well fold the party entirely. Unfortunately he's correct here.... the backlash here in rec.boats is symptomatic of the entire country. Angry, hatefull, whining, democrats **can't** win. The party used to mean a lot more than "opposition". They didn't adress the real issues this round - and God knows there were plenty of good holes to attack from. The politics of insult and hate will always fail. As was proven in SD. -W |
