Great job by ESPN. Two friends crewed on "Magic Lady" that .... well, I won't spoil the finish for those of you that are watching the series. ========================================= Speaking of sharks, I was on MV for a couple of weeks the summer that they filmed "Jaws" circa 1975 or thereabouts. What a three ring circus that was with the movie folks intermingled with the tourists and Edgartown regulars. We sailed in the day that the "Orca" almost sank in real life. It sprang a plank during the shoot and was towed back to Edgartown Marine with the gunnels awash. The producers flew in a shipwright from the mainland and he spent the next two days fitting a new plank while everything else was on hold. It was a mini education in old time boat building to watch him work. I was walking around the docks looking thoroughly disreputable and most of the tourists assumed I was involved with the movie in some way. |
